Dr. Jorge Alonso Suárez

A little about me

I am Jorge Suárez, a specialist in Medical-Surgical Dermatology and Venereology. I was fortunate to be born and raised in Málaga, and ever since I was little I have always wanted to be a doctor. I studied Medicine and later became a qualified specialist in Dermatology at the Hospital Universitario Virgen de la Victoria here in Málaga. Those were very formative years, permitting me to learn and develop my specialty with all the necessary medical and surgical skills that involved. I had the opportunity to complete my training in the Hospital 12 de Octubre in Madrid and the Hospital del Mar in Barcelona. When I finished my residency I was sure that I wanted to continue working in Public Health. I enjoy the daily appointments, research and teaching, and consider every day a new opportunity to continue learning and to help my students and trainees grow.

As I was developing my doctoral thesis on biological therapy for psoriasis (Cum Laude, University of Málaga), I continued working as an adjunct in the hospital where I had done my training, in the autoimmune disease unit (psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, urticaria). At the same time I worked in the Hospital Vithas Xanit Internacional and other clinics in order to serve patients in with Health Insurance. At that moment in my career, after becoming the Medical Director of the Hospital Universitario Virgen de la Victoria and with ten years of experience in the private health sector, I began a high quality and cutting-edge medical project, the cornerstone of which is the patient and whatever time and attention they might require. Understanding their needs and attending them completely is my fundamental mission. Due to the experience I have accumulated throughout the years, combined with state-of-the-art technology, I can fulfill my patients’ expectations. I consider myself very fortunate and thankful to be able to live out my vocation at the highest quality, thanks to my connection with Grupo Dermatológico Dr. Herrera.
